Brain Storming Initial Research
The genre I will be researching and basing my magazine on will be the 'Alternate Rock' genre.
Rock magazines often include a medium close up shot of the front man of the main band featured in the magazine.
Popular rock magazine brands in this genre include KERRANG, MOJO, and Rock Sound.
Rock bands such as Nirvana are often featured on the rock magazines. This is because they are a global iconic band for the youth (often the rock magazine's target audience).
Nirvana's style is very popular in the youth today with flannel shirts and jeans.
This means that magazines can make use of style to appeal to their target audience.
